Participant Learning Outcomes:

  • Increased understanding of the broad meaning of sexuality across the lifespan from birth to death and how this may be expressed
  • Identification of the differences between sexuality and gender identity
  • Increased knowledge of the legal and practical meanings of consent – who can consent and how?
  • Increased ability to identify the different features of  mutual relationships and exploitative relationships
  • Increased understanding of unacceptable sexual behaviours and appropriate worker responses
  • Leave with increased confidence and resources and some practical ideas of how to move forward

Brief Biography of trainer:

Lisa Thorpy and Khaos Moran have both worked directly with people with disabilities in sexuality education and with workers and parents in their support of people’s expressions of sexuality and gender identity.
