Scott Dutton, a social worker with a background in parent-adolescent mediation and group facilitation training has a PD workshop 'Level 1 – Mediation & Conflict Resolution' in Byron Bay on June14-15 at Southern Cross University, Byron Bay). This interactive and stimulating 2 day course will assist professionals to explore conflict and impart the essential principles and process of mediation.

 This 12-hour Mental Health First Aid course teaches members of the public first aid skills for helping people experiencing a mental health crisis, mental health problem or the early stages of a mental illness. Dates: Thurs & Fri, June 14 & 15.

 The Disability and Sexual Expression workshop is for parents, teachers and service providers to help young people with disability understand what is happening to their body and what the rules are when it comes to sexual health and relationships.This is a FREE workshop to be held in Kyogle on Wednesday, May 23, 2012.

 Lifeline Northern Rivers is offering Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) at the Lennox Head Cultural and Community Centre on June 19th and 20th 2012.

SAFE in Oz will be presenting ‘An Introduction To Working With Individuals Who Self-Abuse’ - a 2 day workshop in locations across NSW during June.

 A number of parenting programs will be starting soon through Family Support Network.

 Byron College has funded places available in the Certificate IV Community Service Work (CHC40708). Study is fo  two days a week in Byron Bay and starts in June, finishing in November this year, for only $100!

 The Institute of Family Practice offers two new courses trained by staff from the US based Institute for Family Development (creators of the Homebuilders Model for Intensive Family Support) in their Parramatta training rooms.

'Conversation through Art' is a series of creative workshops for people living with a cancer diagnosis.The program commences on Thursday 19th April 2012, 10-3pm and there are still a few places available.

 Free online courses are now available for older adults (60+ years) with symptoms of worry, stress, low mood, or depression. The eCentreClinic (www.ecentreclinic.org), is a not-for-profit initiative of the Centre for Emotional Health at Macquarie University.

 Current and emerging managers from the community sector are invited to engage in a 'Leadership in Action'  dynamic and unique course based on Daniel Goleman’s Emotional Intelligence theory. This course will provide a variety of useful and practical tools which will increase effectiveness as a manager and enhance leadership skills.

Ballina TAFE campus will be offering the course Certificate 4 in Alcohol and Other Drug Work over 2 semesters in 2012. 

This seminar is a first for Pottsville Beach Neighbourhood Centre, and for communities on the Tweed Coast. It is being organised by the facilitators of PBNC's Aspie Side by Side Social Support Groups (for families and young people), largely as a result of requests from group participants and from families who have linked in to the Northern Rivers Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Network.
