Home and Community Care (HACC) Services provide supports to older Australians, younger people with a disability and their carers to enable them to live more independently at home in the community.  The NRSDC HACC Development program aims to improve the capacity of HACC Service infrastructure to deliver quality services, which respond to client needs, including special needs groups and also to  work collaboratively with the community service sector to build a strong cohesive community care system.

What Carers Want: Carers NSW Survey 2008 Report PDF Print E-mail

Carers NSW conducted a survey in October 2008 to collect demographic data about Carers NSW members, non member carers, care recipients and information about the caring role and the then relevance of the Carers NSW 2008/2009 Budget Submission. The key recurrent issues identified by survey respondents were the need for more respite services, accessible and adequate services in general, better financial assistance, more information and support for carers and greater awareness of carers in the community by health professionals and governments. These issues were also echoed in the Who Cares…? report of the Better Support for Carers Inquiry released in May 2009.
