After careful deliberation by a panel of judges, including Lismore Mayor Jenny Dowell, Page MP Janelle Saffin, RDA NR Chair Ian Tiley and Ben Roche from SCU, a selection of Northern Rivers community services workers have been short-listed as finalists for the Community Sector Ball Awards. Award winners will be announced at the Community Sector Ball and Awards Night on Saturday, November 5 and major prizes will be presented by award sponsor North Coast Community Housing.
With the NSW election just around the corner, National Council of Social Service NSW (NCOSS) director, Alison Peters will be visiting the North Coast region this week to meet with local communities and learn more about the social issues for people living in regional NSW. (February 15, 2011)

Tales of seeing a YOWI at Lismore Shopping Square this week proved to be true when staff at the Transport Information stall handed out information about an option for YOWI transport in our local area. YOWI (Youth on Wheels Inc) is a subsidised transport option available to help groups of young people travel around the local area, and one that many people may not have heard of. (15 February, 2011)
