The Minster for Youth, the Hon. Linda Burney, is inviting young people to nominate themselves for appointment to the NSW Youth Advisory Council for 2009. Applications are particularly being sought from young people with experience and a keen interest in youth affairs.
The NSW Youth Advisory Council advises the NSW Government on issues of importance to young people. It provides a direct avenue of communication between the young people of NSW and the NSW Government. The Council was established under the Youth Advisory Council Act (1989) and reports to the Minister for Youth.

Appointments to the 2009 NSW Youth Advisory Council will be up to 12 months. It is anticipated that appointments will be announced before the end of December 2008.

Those who are interested in applying for membership of the 2009 NSW Youth Advisory Council can submit their application on-line by visiting the NSW Government's Youth website www.youth.nsw.gov.au

The closing date for applications is 5:00pm, Friday 10 October 2008.
