The full day course offers an overview of Autism Spectrum Disorder, it’s features and impact on individuals functioning in integrated learning and social environments. Comprehensive support strategies are explained within a Positive Behaviour Support framework. Opportunities for discussion and problem solving make this an engaging and practical course.

Key subject areas covered:

  • Overview of ASD
  • Thinking and learning styles of children with Autism and Asperger’s Disorder
  • A systematic approach to the implementation of support strategies for behavioural, social, learning, communication and sensory-motor needs in classroom and playground settings.

  • An understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • How to create an Autism friendly environment
  • Strategies to support the individual with ASD in their learning environment.
