This course is for an Introductory & Intermediate audience.

This experiential and innovative course demonstrates that effective communication
starts from within. The course is particularly suitable for nervous public speakers
(experiencing a “disconnect”) and those who wish to speak with greater depth and
authenticity to build long-term relationships based on trust. Once connection with the
self is re-established, then trust, presence and rapport with others flows on naturally.

Key subject areas covered:

• How to manage speaking nerves using your natural physiology.
• How to establish connection through creating trust and rapport.
• How to use your body to speak with authenticity, impact and presence.
• How to speak on your feet and “off the cuff”.
• How to shift with ease from 1 on 1 conversations to larger groups.

Participant Learning Outcomes:

Participants will represent and advocate for their organisation, clients and community
with greater confidence, effectiveness and professionalism, pursuing opportunities they
may previously have avoided or missed. In the course, participants will learn first hand:

• Relaxation and focusing techniques using the breath and body.
• Experimenting with posture, stance, sound, movement and eye contact.
• The power and challenge of silence and stillness vs words and action.
• Speaking successfully “off the cuff” with minimal preparation.
• Working in small groups and sharing personal feedback and questions.
• To understand how to access their authentic voice and “stay real”.

This course will appeal to those who are nervous or avoid public speaking and to those
who wish to communicate with greater depth, presence and authenticity whenever
they speak in public, 1 to 1 and 1 to many.
