This course will provide families and friends who are caring for someone with
dementia with increased knowledge and skills to help in their caring role. It will
include time for talking with other carers as well as the formal education session.

• Effective communication
• Understanding behavioural changes
• Local services/supports

Families and friends will benefit through increased understanding of what dementia is
and ways to help meet the needs of those they are caring for. It will help to reduce
