Current and emerging managers from the community sector are invited to engage in a 'Leadership in Action' dynamic and unique course based on Daniel Goleman’s Emotional Intelligence theory. This course will provide a variety of useful and practical tools which will increase effectiveness as a manager and enhance leadership skills. The course is suitable for new and existing managers in community services including frontline supervisors, team leaders, program managers and coordinators. Participants must have the opportunity to supervise staff throughout the program. This information is from MHCC (Mental Health Coordinating Council) in Sydney – informing of the Leadership in Action course coming to Lismore again in 2012. Zoe Bloom, Course Coordinator at the Mental Health Coordinating Council sent out an email previously about the course which is currently running in Lismore and many people jumped at the opportunity. The current one received funding which meant that it was offered at a great price of under $800 instead of almost $3000. It is hoped the 2012 course will also attract funding – but at this stage – that is yet to be confirmed - if received – it will lower the cost to $785.
