NRSDC welcomes equal pay decision
Fair Work Australia’s decision to grant significant increases to community sector workers has been welcomed by Northern Rivers Social Development Council. The decision in the long running Equal Remuneration Case recognises that 150,000 community service workers around Australia are currently not fairly paid for the work that they do. The decision grants pay increases of between 18% and 41%. Read more...

Street by Street program needs you!
Street by Street is a national neighbourhood support program that links people who live in the same street or nearby. Where two or more residents in a street are known to be in need of regular practical support from neighbours, an auspicing group will distribute a flyer in that street, inviting neighbours who wish to lend a hand to make contact, attend an information session, and begin connecting up. Organisers would like to hear from individuals and organisations around the country interested in participating in rolling out Street by Street on a national scale. Read more...

Northern Rivers Social Development Council is offering 7 scholarships to people in leadership and management positions in the Northern Rivers. The scholarships are worth $2500 each to participate in the Leadership in Action (LIA) program delivered by the Mental Health Coordinating Council (MHCC) in the first half of 2012. Read more...
