The Community Relations Commission is pleased to announce that funding for the Refugee Youth Sports Sponsorship Program in 2012 is now available. The program aims to reach refugee youth in rural and regional areas of New South Wales, enabling them to participate in sporting activities where financial disadvantage would otherwise preclude them, and providing an avenue for establishing connections with the local community.

The NSW Government is calling for tenders to operate a contract with the Health Administration Corporation. The successful respondents will establish and operate Family Referral Services that link vulnerable children, young people and families in need of assistance with the most appropriate support services in their local area. The operations will have a regional focus and include services for the Mid North Coast and the Far North Coast.

 The Law and Justice Foundation of NSW Grants Program supports community projects that aim to improve access to justice, particularly for people with a disadvantage. The Foundation accepts small grant applications of up to $5000 at any time. Applications for general grants of up to $50,000 close on 31 March and 31 August annually.

A late funding round for Young Children with Disabilities (YCWD) through the Intervention Support Program is now available. The Intervention Support Program provides supplementary support to improve the educational opportunities, learning outcomes and personal development of children with disabilities.

Housing peak National Shelter welcomes the affordable housing grants now available under the Federal Government’s Building Better Regional Cities program.Local councils in 47 regional centres across Australia can now apply for Federal funding (a total of $100M) to support more affordable housing in their communities.
