Coast Home Help is seeking community input into the special needs, problems and issues regarding the provision of home based Aged Care Services to GLBTI people, with a vision to obtaining Government funding to assist with aged care in our local community. Coast Home Help provides care and assistance to the aged in the community who wish to continue living as long as possible within their homes. Recent Australian and overseas research indicates GLBTI couples and single people are sometimes fearful of getting assistance or have experienced differing levels of discrimination in accessing aged care services.
If you are a GLBTI person or couple interested in these issues, or if you have experienced negative or discriminatory treatment when seeking aged care assistance, we want to hear from you! We also want to hear from carers, advocates or volunteers involved with ageing members of the GLBTI community. All information will be treated in absolute confidence.
