 The nomination cycle for the 2012 Wonders of Women Outstanding Achievement Awards is now open.  Presentation of the awards will be at the International Women’s Day event to be hosted at Kingscliff Beach Bowls Club  on 7th March 2012.

History of Awards:

  • Developed by Tweed Shire Women’s Service in 2009 as part of the Wonders of Women (WOW) strategy
  • Designed to provide a community process to identify and acknowledge outstanding women achievers in our community

Nomination Process:

  • Community nomination process opens on Thursday 20th October 2011 and closes on Monday 6th February 2012
  • Any person can make a nomination if consent is given by the person being nominated
  • A nominee must be providing support, service and leadership to women living in the Tweed Shire

How to make a nomination:

  • Confirm consent from the person being nominated
  • Complete a nomination form on www.tswomen.org.au or a hard copy provided by Tweed Shire Women’s Service
  • Contact Tweed Shire Women’s Service, if you require support in completing the nomination form

Judging Process:

  • A judging panel consists of community members skilled and experienced in  community processes
  • Each nomination is aligned to the selection criteria and three finalists are selected
  • The three nominees are forwarded to an independent judge for final selection
  • A full list of the nominees is available on the Tweed Shire Women’s Service website for a period of 14 days to allow for community feedback

Defining Categories:

  • Each category recognises the contribution of women who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in the provision of leadership, mentoring, advocacy, education and direct support to their specific community

  • Community supporters & volunteers
  • Aged care
  • Creative arts
  • Indigenous and other cultures
  • Emergency Services
  • Young Woman of the Year
  • Woman of the Year

Tweed Shire women’s Service welcomes the opportunity to work in partnership in the provision of this event, a number of corporate sponsorship packages are available:

  • Major sponsor                   =              $2,000 in cash or goods
  • Platinum sponsor            =              $1,500 in cash or goods
  • Gold sponsor                     =              $1,000 in cash or goods
  • Silver sponsor                   =              $500 in cash or goods
